　Ｒ．ベネディクトの The Chrysanthemum and the Sword : Patterns of Japanese Culture,1946〔『菊と刀』平凡社ライブラリー版2013年〕の元になった研究（第二次大戦中）のスポンサーが、米国政府（United States Office of War Information）であることに釈然としないものをずっと感じていたが、下記を読み諒解した。
