「modernity」の二つの起源

　本書、Chicago UP paperbackの裏表紙に、Hard Cover出版時の各識者の短評が掲載されています。ローティ、スキナー、ベラーです。抜粋すると、

とあり、Big names が揃って激賞しています。
　本書は、20世紀末を飾る最も重要な思想史書の一冊であると言うべきです。ちなみに、近代の二つの起源とは、「モンテーニュ的近代」vs.「デカルト的近代」です。この具体的内容については、弊ブログ記事に、故村上淳一氏の明快な評価を引いていますので、下記記事の村上氏記述とともにご参照ください。
