未発の潜勢力としての「Chaos 混沌」／ “Chaos” as a latent force

を読んで改めて考えてみたのは以下のことです。

　既成のCosmos（秩序／具象）はそのままではいつか必ず変化して（あるいは、朽ちて）いく。しかし清新な Cosmos の端緒は古い Cosmos からは生み出されない。非在のまだ見ぬCosmosを生み出し得るのは、旧態依然たるCosmosではなく、未発の可能態としてのみ現前する Chaos（混沌／具象以前）である。その可能態としての Chaosとは、それまでの 旧Cosmos では隠れていた agent たちと、chaotic/decontextualized（カオス化した／非文脈化）した旧 Cosmos の諸資源 resourcesとの選択的親和関係（elective affinities/Wahlverwandtshaften）である。

　The existing Cosmos (order/configuration) will surely change (or decay) one day if it remains as it is. However, the beginning of a fresh cosmos cannot be created from an old cosmos. It is not the old cosmos that can give birth to a cosmos that does not exist yet, but chaos (before the concrete) that appears only as an unexploited potential state. Chaos as a possible state is the elective affinities/Wahlverwandtshaften between the agents hidden in the old cosmos and the resources of the old cosmos that have become chaotic (decontextualized).

◆Persistence is a necessary condition (pp.339-41)

　(omission) In short, learning itself is an obsession. All people who aspire to study must have had that kind of obsession, but how strong that obsession is and how obsessive it is differs from scholar to scholar. However, how strong or how vindictive they were does not necessarily mean that they would succeed. There are people who do not succeed no matter how vindictive they are. (omission) Being vindictive is certainly a necessary condition. But it is also certainly not a sufficient condition.

　たまたまかも知れませんが、よく似た言葉だったので、集めてみました。

『荘子』應帝王　第七荘子　「渾沌」　現代語訳 | 漢文塾、より

南海之帝為儵、北海之帝為忽、中央之帝為渾沌。
儵与忽、時相与遇於渾沌之地。
渾沌待之甚善。
儵与忽諜報渾沌之徳曰、「人皆有七竅、以視聴食息。此独無有。嘗試鑿之。」
日鑿一竅、七日而渾沌死。

南海の帝を儵（しゆく）と為（な）し、北海の帝を忽（こつ）と為し、中央の帝を渾沌と為す。
儵と忽と、時に相与（とも）に渾沌の地に遇（あ）ふ。
渾沌之を待（たい）すること甚（はなは）だ善（よ）し。

"Before Cosmos" Yukawa Hideki (January 1961)

　One of the greatest joys in life comes when a long-held hope is realized, when years of hard work bear fruit. For a researcher such as myself, the greatest satisfaction in life is when an idea or concept that has long been in the back of my mind comes together in the form of a concrete theoretical system, and when the conclusions that emerge from that system are confirmed by experimentation. Such moments, however, occur only rarely during our long research career. Almost all of our lives are spent repeating the same thing, going back and forth on the same plane. Too often, we look back and find that we are only a little farther along the same plane, even though we think we have made considerable progress through our daily efforts. It is so rare to jump from one level to the next that it is as if a heavenly robe of feathers were to come and stroke us.
